Practically a national holiday in the United States. Super Sunday is the championship game of the NFL. This years game features the New England Patriots versus the Los Angeles Rams. Current odds have the Patriots listed as a 3 point favorite with an over/under of 56.5 points. Vegas obviously thinks that this is going to be a close game with lots of scoring. ( Reminder, gambling is legal in the Dominican Republic. You can walk into any of one of the local sports books and throw a few bucks down on the game. ) So where is the best spot to watch the game and throw back a few cold ones? We gotcha covered.
Our recommended viewing spots:
Finn McCool’s - Drink and food specials, buy a square for 1000 peso’s and have the chance to win up to 100,000 pesos. Six big screen TV’s plus a projector. Philly cheese steak sandwiches, wings, burgers, beer and football - god bless America. If your visiting from the States this is probably your spot, especially if you are from Philly.
Mid Town bar - Matt is putting up a super huge HD projector screen and throwing down a tailgating party with good ole American BBQ before kick off. Matt and his crew know how to put on a Super Bowl party and that big screen next to the pool at Hotel Las Palmeras is a pretty awesome site!
Kahuna’s (Cabarete) 2 for 1 drink specials, projector screen and an awesome beach front location right in the middle of Cabarete. We absolutely love hanging at Kahuna’s, especially when Justin James is jamming away. This is a great change of pace and another awesome spot for Super Sunday.
Both the Jolly Roger and Britannia Pub will also have the game on also. Both of these bars are located on the strip right down in the center of town. These are expat bars and much tamer than some of the other venues on the street. I.E - you can take your family into either of these spots and not worry much about any extracurricular activity going on.
Flip Flop Sports Bar - Closer to the beach you’ll find Flip Flop sports bar. It’s located at the top of the hill in the beachside plaza. Reservations are required - 1200 pesos for a seat at the bar/ $4300 pesos for a table. Each comes with a bar credit of 1000/4000 pesos. Five big screen TV’s and a huge projector screen. Word is they are filling up fast so if your interested give them a call or stop by to reserve your space.
Sosua One game prediction - Pats 31 - Rams 28
