Taberna El Conde

Delicious food, friendly fantastic service, excellent prices, yup that’s El Conde. Easily one of our favorite restaurants on the entire North Coast. It amazes us that more people don’t know about it. For the record, El Conde is one of the few eateries that we have never heard a bad review about. Everyone has an off night or perhaps a customer who they just couldn’t make happy, but honestly we have not heard a single negative word spoken about this place. This is one of those restaurants that absolutely lives up to the hype. And guess what? It’s not expensive, in fact it is incredibly reasonably priced. Even the French Canadians rave about the prices ( sorry couldn’t resist jajajaja !).. Peace and Love Quebec.

We visited a few nights ago and the results were predictable. We randomly walked in at 7pm, the owner Nick greeted us within seconds of sitting down. (FYI, no one knows who we are when we do these reviews so toss out the special treatment conspiracy theories) Drinks came quick and we decided to order from the deep menu (deep as in they have a very diverse menu) instead of ordering off the specials board. A fresh salad appeared a few minutes later and then before we knew it we were staring at a gorgeous rack of ribs, meat literally falling off the bones. We are talking pure Southern States melt in your mouth BBQ ribs - absolutely the best ribs we have had in the D.R. and that isn’t even their specialty! Pictures attached. YUM!!!!

Look, we could ramble on and on about Fat Thursday burger night or curry Monday’s or the meatloaf special we destroyed last month for 395 pesos…. or you could grab your bff, head down for dinner and discover all the deliciousness yourself.

Taberna El Conde is located on the corner of Dr. Rosen and Dr. Martinez streets. Strategically placed directly across the street from the evil Bon ice cream shop (thanks for the extra two inches on the waist).
